Our Veterinarians
Our Veterinarians combined have over 55 years of experience as small animal veterinary clinicians. Each Veterinarian has an area of special interest requiring intensive and ongoing training and a dedication to excellence.
Our Veterinarians' affiliations include the American Veterinary Medical Association, Oregon Veterinary Medical Association, Central Oregon Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, and membership to the Veterinary Information Network giving them access to Specialists and Educational Centers across the country.
Many people inquire to the amount of education and training required to become a Veterinarian. A Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine takes an additional four years of intensive education in an accredited college of veterinary medicine after completion of an undergraduate degree. In Oregon, after receiving their Doctorate, Veterinarians complete a full year of practice under the guidance of a tenured Veterinarian before they are licensed to practice with complete independence. Specialists must go on for additional education and training just as a human Medical Doctor who specializes does.
A Veterinarian just as an M.D. attends continuing education conferences and symposiums to keep their skills and knowledge up to date on latest veterinary medicine advancements and techniques.
In other words, your other family doctor, completes an education and training regime similar to that of your primary care doctor. And, they have the same lifetime commitment to prevention, caring and healing.
