Stem Cell Replacement Therapy

Learn more about Stem Cell Replacement Therapy

Osteoarthritis has numerous causes in companion animals and results in varying degrees of pain and disfunction.  While there are many medications available today to reduce the pain from arthritis, a new, advanced treatment is now available.  Stem Cell Replacement Therapy utilizes your pet's own cells to stimulate the growth of healthy tissue in arthritic joints.

Pets undergo a brief surgical procedure to harvest a small quantity of abdominal fat tissue.  The tissue is sent overnight to a lab for processing and the concentrated stem cells are then injected into the affected joint.  These specialized cells induce new growth of healthy tissue in the joint that can reduce pain and improve function for an extended period of time.
