Dr. Amy Rewick
Dr. Amy Rewick was born and raised in Bend. Her early animal experiences included growing up with labrador retrievers and raising rabbits for 4-H. While her love of animals was a common thread in her early years, it was her first job that secured her career path in veterinary medicine. At age 15, she was hired at Central Oregon Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant. While the job was intended to fund a Spanish trip to Costa Rica, it established an unwavering interest and motivation to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
After graduating from Mountain View High School and Linfield College (in McMinnville, OR), Dr. Rewick attended The Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduating veterinary school in 2005. She then completed an intensive small animal surgical, emergency, and internal medicine internship at the Veterinary Specialists of Rochester in Rochester, NY. It was here that her experience and passion for this career truly formed. Upon completing her internship, Dr. Rewick moved to Denver, CO where she lived and practiced for 7 years. Her long-term goal, however, was to return to Central Oregon and work at COAH. In July 2013, Dr. Rewick accepted the associate veterinarian position at Central Oregon Animal Hospital.
Her professional interests include dentistry/oral surgery, wellness care, emergency medicine, and surgery. Dr. Rewick has pursue many courses in advanced dentistry techniques. She regularly attends continuing education courses in order to maintain her skills and knowledge base, which helps her provide the best service and care to COAH’s clients and patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Rewick enjoys many of Central Oregon’s outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and skiing. Her favorite hobby is competitive ballroom dancing. She also enjoys any time spent with her husband, daughter, and dog Eddy.
